What is a fat admirer? The quiet half of the community

Fat admirer, or FA, explained plainly: what it means, how it overlaps with feederism, and why it's about genuine attraction rather than a stereotype.

You see the term everywhere in these circles, usually shortened to FA, and almost never explained. So here it is, plainly.

The short version

A fat admirer is someone who is genuinely, specifically attracted to bigger bodies. Not tolerating, not "into it despite," but drawn to softness and size the way other people are drawn to any other type. That's the whole of it.

FA is not the same as feeder

This trips a lot of people up. A fat admirer is attracted to a bigger body as it already is. A feeder enjoys the act of feeding and often the process of gaining. The two overlap, plenty of people are both, but they are not the same thing. You can be an FA with zero interest in feeding, and that's completely valid. For how the feeding side works, see what is feederism, and for the whole vocabulary, the feeder and feedee glossary.

Why the label matters

For a long time, being attracted to fat bodies was something people hid, even from partners. Having a word for it, and a community where it's normal, changes that. It lets someone say "this is what I actually want" instead of settling or apologizing. That quiet relief is most of the point.

FA and body positivity

Done honestly, admiring bigger bodies sits comfortably next to body positivity: it treats fatness as desirable, not as a problem to fix. The healthy version is about a real person, their consent, and their comfort, not a body type abstracted into a fantasy. Someone who only wants the size and not the person is missing the best part.

If you're an FA looking for people

You are far from alone, and you don't have to explain the attraction from scratch every time. A specialized, moderated space beats mainstream apps where "I like bigger bodies" gets misread. Have a look at finding a feedee and set up a profile on Crave.
