What is a gainer? The self-driven side of gaining
Gainer explained plainly: what it means, how it's different from a feedee, and why plenty of gainers do it on their own terms.
You see the word everywhere in these circles. Here's what a gainer actually is, in plain terms.
The short answer
A gainer is someone who gains weight on purpose, driven by their own wish rather than by a partner feeding them. The focus is on their own progress and how it feels to get softer and heavier over time. Many gainers are very much the author of their own journey.
Gainer versus feedee
The lines blur, but the usual difference is who's steering:
- A feedee enjoys being fed and spoiled by someone else. The other person is part of the pleasure.
- A gainer gains under their own steam, with or without a partner. The drive comes from within.
Plenty of people are both, and someone can be a gainer now and a feedee later, or both at once. For the whole vocabulary, see the feeder and feedee glossary.
Why people gain on purpose
There's no single reason and none is needed. Common ones: the feeling of fullness and weight, liking a softer body, the quiet satisfaction of watching yourself change, or simply eating without a diet voice in your head. We go into the feeling itself in why am I attracted to weight gain.
Doing it well
Gaining and looking after yourself aren't enemies. Steady beats fast, water and a little movement keep you comfortable, and a pace you can live with is the whole trick. The practical version is in how to gain weight on purpose and healthy weight gain.
If you want support
Some gainers go solo, others love having an encourager cheering them on. If that appeals, say so on your profile and look around on Crave.
