Why am I attracted to weight gain? Making sense of the pull
If being fed or the idea of gaining draws you in and you're not sure why, you're not broken and you're not alone. An honest look at where the attraction comes from.
A lot of people arrive at this quietly, through a feeling they can't quite explain and a worry that something's wrong with them. Nothing is wrong with you. Here's an honest look at where the pull tends to come from.
It's more common than you think
The attraction to feeding, fullness, softness, or gaining shows up across all kinds of people. It's just rarely talked about, so it feels like a solitary secret. The moment most people find others who feel the same, the shame drops away fast. You're not the only one, not by a long way.
Where the feeling often comes from
There's no single reason, and you don't need one to be valid. But a few threads come up again and again:
- Care and being cared for. For many, feeding is really about attention and trust. Being fed can feel like being looked after in a deep, uncomplicated way.
- Letting go. A lot of us hold ourselves tightly all day. Fullness, softness, and permission to want more can feel like release.
- Attraction to the body itself. Some people are simply drawn to bigger, softer bodies, the way anyone is drawn to a type. That's the fat admirer side.
- The change itself. Watching a body soften over time, yours or someone else's, is its own fascination.
Most people are some mix of these, and the mix can shift over time.
Wanting it for yourself versus in a partner
The pull can point inward (you want to be fed or to gain) or outward (you're drawn to a partner who is). Often both. Neither is more real, and noticing which way yours leans helps you say what you actually want. The vocabulary for all of it is in the feeder and feedee glossary.
"Is it okay to feel this?"
Yes. An attraction is not a problem to solve. What matters is how you live it: with consent, honesty, and care for your own and others' wellbeing. That's the line that keeps anything healthy, and it's the subject of is feederism healthy?.
What to do with it
You don't have to act on anything to understand yourself better. If you do want to explore, start by reading rather than rushing, and look for people who get it. A good overview is what is feederism. Understanding the feeling is the first step to being at ease with it.
